March Madness: A Wild Month

Parker and I laughing

March was a busy one as all my days seem to be. As the wedding gets closer (22 days away) a lot of preparation has gone into that but now it is just little details. We ordered the tulips, we got our hand fasting chords and my veil came in the mail. Parker picked his outfit and that was probably the hardest part for him, haha. All-in-all it has been incredibly easy to plan a wedding so fast, our main focus is always just to get married- the rest is just extras. OH! And the best part is we got our marriage license!! That was super fun and now it feels even realer and more official. Then after that we got frozen yogurt so it was a very good day in that aspect of life.

Me at the prairie plot burn
Fire

Parker and I both got to participate in some controlled burns. For him it was way more professional and was for elk habitat- he actually got to see one. I was only involved in 1-acre prairie burns since I am in Illinois and you don't need a permit for 1-acre and Illinois is known as the prairie state though we do not have too much anymore.

My Bow: Diamond Prism

I got a new bow string from Scheels to be more personalized and better fit to me for my Summer internship in South Dakota. It is purple and green twisted; the artist in me is thrilled to get to incorporate a little bit of personalization to my favorite hobby.

Shot placement on a White-tailed Deer

About 2 weeks ago I got to go to a National Deer Association conference hosted by Whitetail Properties at a beautiful venue they have in Pittsfield. I am so blessed I get to be a part of this and get experience while I am still in school. I learned so much since they were filming their deer steward classes with updated information on things like shot placement, deer behavior and habitat and CWD updates. Since my internship is remote work I really enjoyed meeting the people I get to work with and make those connections. Sometimes it is good to step back from school and go get real world experiences.

At the end of each day I think to myself: I have done all I can do for today. But I couldn't do all this without my helper. Do you ever feel like all you can do is your next right step? That right step then leads you to the next and the next..? The answer to this is when Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you." -John 14:15-17. Recently we had a really hard time in the family when we lost a dear grandpa, however he is not lost he is now walking with Jesus. I noticed in the sermon at the funeral they said Holy Spirit three times- the Holy Spirit is also known as the Comforter and we felt that. The Holy Sprit is not talked about nearly enough because it is our advocate here on Earth that connects us to Jesus in heaven. At the end of my day I can only hope I listened to that still small voice that guides me every step of the way because so far it has been an outpouring of blessings.

  1. So happy for you. Of course, you listen to the Holy Spirit. It is evident in all you do and who you are
